Executive

Claire Sutton, M.A., RCC, CEAP
Claire has been President and Treasurer of the Western Canada EAPA Chapter since September 2004. For the 2007-2008 year, Claire will continue as President as the former Chapter assumes its new identity as The Western Canada EAPA Branch within district 5 ( International) of EAPA. Claire is active with EAPA and is on the executive committee of CEAPA (Canadian Employee Assistance Professional Association) and is a board member of the Adler School of Professional Psychology, Vancouver Campus.

Since 1992, Claire has worked extensively in the field of EAP / EFAP in the roles of Clinical Counsellor, Program Manager, Clinical Supervisor, National Director and EAP Consultant to organizations, EAP providers and clinical counsellors. She has held positions with both external and internal EAP providers.  She has presented at EAP conferences in both Canada and the United States. Claire is also the EAP Advisor to the members of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Claire is President of Claire Sutton Consulting Inc. (www.clairesutton.com) a business specializing in individual and organizational wellness. She maintains a private practice (counselling, coaching & consultation) and is a skilled trainer.  

Claire received her Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia.  She has held the designation of "Certified Employee Assistance Professional" (CEAP) since 1996 and has been the advisor to several counsellors who have pursued this designation.  She has also designed and delivered The Fundamentals & More of EAP/ EFAP - a course for clinical counsellors pursuing work within the field of EAP. Claire worked in business and marketing prior to transitioning into Counselling Psychology.

The executive committee with Claire as President has seen the former chapter and now branch grow in members and in attendance. The executive committee has dedicated many hours of their personal time in order to bring focus and meaning to the Branch meetings which includes relevant professional development and networking support for its members.
