Issues and Solutions: Managing Mental Health in the Workplace” is an award-winning presentation designed to provide small to medium-sized business owners and managers with training to better manage employee mental health issues while helping employees remain productive. EAP providers will gain practical strategies and tools to help your corporate clients in identifying and addressing emotional distress with employees and effective performance management when mental health is a concern.

Presenter: Margaret Tebbutt, M.A.

Margaret Tebbutt, MèsLettres (Montpellier) and graduate of UBC Sauder Executive Development Program, is the Manager of the Mental Health Works (MHW) program for the Canadian Mental Health Association, BC Division. As a Certified Trainer, she delivers presentations to help employees become aware of mental health in the workplace, and workshops to help managers develop the knowledge and skills to more effectively discuss mental health issues with employees and create accommodation strategies that work.

Margaret participates on the Steering Committee for CMHA- BC’s Bottom Line Conference on mental illness in the workplace, on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Institute for the Relief of Pain and Disability, and in the Mental Health and Addictions Task Group of the BC Collaborative for Productivity and the Prevention of Needless Work Disability.  Prior to joining CMHA, she held positions as Senior Advisor, Executive Development for the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business; Director, Client Service Delivery with Western Economic Diversification Canada; and in Canada’s foreign service at embassies abroad.
